James Matthews, 40, proposed to the 32-year-old sister of Kate Middleton last weekend while on vacation in the UK. According to The Daily Mail, Pippa was taken “completely by surprise” when her hedge fund manager beau proposed with a huge diamond on their holiday.

Matthews reportedly asked for permission from Middleton’s father before popping the question. “James is a traditionalist and very much wanted to do things properly. That meant getting his future father in law’s consent,” the source said.
