Prince’s Remains Cremated In Secret As Close Friends & Family Gather For Memorial Service
Prince’s sudden death shocked the world when he passed on April 21. On Friday, April 22, his body was secretly cremated after it was released back to his family.

His sister, Tyka Nelson, brought the body to First Memorial Western Chapel in Minnesota. Prince was part of the Jehovah’s Witness faith, which requires he be cremated within a week.

The singer’s, 57, close friends and family members gathered for a private memorial service at his estate Paisley Park on April 23 including his two ex-wives, Mayte Garcia and Manuela Testolini.

“He had very precise ideas about how he wanted his death to be handled and that didn't involve a huge funeral but a quiet service. He wanted it to be kept to the minimum of fuss. Prince was such figure you don't need a funeral to remember him by,” said a family friend to The Mirror.

“The world has his music instead. He wanted to simply disappear with no fuss, no drama, no fanfare. It was just his style,” added the friend.

Fans also gathered outside Paisley Park, tying purple balloons and leaving notes for the beloved artist whose career spanned decades.
