Dec. 3 2018, Updated 4:34 p.m. ET
In a rare interview, Kate Middleton's mother, Carole Middleton, opened up about her royal grandchildren, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, and why she has made it a point not to comment on her famous family's personal life to the media.
In her first interview ever, Carole, sat down with U.K. newspaper, The Telegraph where she revealed that when it comes to Christmas trees, she doesn’t like to have just one in the house.
The mother-of-three went on to share that she likes to have as many trees in her home, including one for each of her grandchildren’s rooms. “So that they can decorate it themselves," she said.
In addition to George, 5, and Charlotte, 3, Kate and her husband, Prince William also welcomed Prince Louis in April. They will be celebrating his first Christmas this year.

Kate's sister, Pippa Middleton, and her husband James Matthews just welcomed their first child, Arthur, in October. The sisters' youngest brother, James Middleton, still looks to be a single man.
Although Carole is very close to her daughter, Kate, both she and her husband, Michael Middleton, decided not to speak to the press about Kate and William’s relationship. “Over the years, it’s proved wise not to say anything,” she shared.
