Congratulations are in order for Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi! The couple got engaged during a trip to Italy and now the royal family is gearing up for another royal wedding.
Beatrice, 31, who is the Queen’s granddaughter, announced the big news in a statement released by Buckingham Palace on Thursday, September 26. “The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Beatrice to Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi,” the statement read.
Edoardo, a property tycoon, popped the question earlier this month while the two were on vacation. The happy couple was actually celebrating Misha Nonoo’s wedding in Rome. Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan, Princess Eugenia, Karlie Kloss, and Joshua Kushner all attended the star-studded nuptials.
Beatrice and her husband are planning to have their own wedding in 2020.
“We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement,” the couple said in a statement. “We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married.”

In addition to taking a series of pictures of the happy couple, Beatrice’s sister Eugenie sent a message of support. “Beabea – wow! I’m so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo. It’s been a long time coming and you two are meant to be. ? by me!!” she wrote on Instagram.
Beatrice’s parents, Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, also expressed their excitement. “We are thrilled that Beatrice and Edoardo have got engaged, having watched their relationship develop with pride,” they wrote. “We are the lucky parents of a wonderful daughter who has found her love and companion in a completely devoted friend and a loyal young man. We send them every good wish for a wonderful family future.”
Edoardo parents, Nikki Williams-Ellis and Alessandro Mapelli, followed suit and reacted to the engagement. "We are truly delighted about Edoardo and Beatrice’s engagement," they said in their statement. "Our family has known Beatrice for most of her life. Edo and Beatrice are made for each other, and their happiness and love for each other is there for all to see. They share an incredibly strong and united bond, their marriage will only strengthen what is already a wonderful relationship.”
