Iconic Radio Host Angie Martinez Involved In Severe Car Accident
Angie Martinez is in recovery after suffering serious injuries in a car accident. On Monday, November 4th, the iconic radio host, 48, informed fans on social media that she’s recuperating after being involved in a severe wreck.
“I’ve always believed in angels and mine was with me the other morning. I was in a severe car accident and sustained a fractured lumbar and shattered vertebra,” the radio personality said in separate Twitter and Instagram posts.
The host revealed that it’s going to be a while until she’s back up and running but remains positive. “I’m revering and will be for some time, but I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to do that,” Angie said. Adding, “Wanted you all to hear it from me first and know that although this is a difficult time, I am in the best spirits possible and determined to be back and better than every soon! Good bless and I deeply appreciate all love and prayers.”
Angie hasn’t released any other details on when or where the accident occurred, but it also seems as though not many people knew about the accident prior to the legendary host sharing the news on social media.

The host received an overwhelmingly show of support from friends and peers including fellow radio host Sway Calloway and The Breakfast Club’s Angela Yee, DJ Envy, and Charlamagne Tha God. “Just finished putting a prayer in the air for you !!!” said Charlamagne, 41. “Sending you positive energy, love, and light Queen!!!”
Fans on social media also sent positive vibes. “Praying for a speedy recovery filled with guidance from the most high,” one person wrote. While another added, “Get well hun … sending up prayers for you.”
The news of the car crash comes less than a month after the premier of Angie’s new WE TV series, Untold Stories of Hip Hop where she has interviewed celebrities such as Cardi B, A$AP Rocky, Fat Joe, and DJ Khaled. On the show, stars tell share never before told stories with the iconic Hip Hop radio personality.
Angie has been in the entertainment industry for over three decades and currently is a morning show host on Power 105.
