According to new reports, the Bachelor's front-runner may be on the show for all the wrong reasons.

Sources tell In Touch that Gates originally signed up for the show to vie for former Bachelorette contestant, Luke Pell's heart, before producers decided to switch Pell's place with Viall.

"She was chosen to be Luke's Southern belle," the insider dishes. But the crew kept her on because they thought she was a "cute girl."

In spite of the last minute change, the 25-year-old still decided to go forward with the show.
