Real Housewives of New York City star LuAnn de Lesseps married her controversial beau Tom D’Agostino, Jr., on New Year’s Eve. The wedding should have been a glamorous soiree, but it seems the event was marred by the couple’s questionable request!

According to Page Six, the couple had originally asked guests to donate to one of two charities in place of giving them a wedding gift, but at the last second, they changed their minds!

A guest told the publication that the wealthy pair instead told their family and friends to send money to a GoFundMe.com account to help cover the medical expenses of a relative. And some were none too happy about the last minute change of plans!

“You’re going to spend a half-million-plus on a wedding, and then ask your friends to cough up your relative’s Band-Aids?” a source vented to Page Six exclusively.

“LuAnn and Tom are both very rich—they should write a check to their relative and not hustle their wedding guests for cash,” the insider explained.
