Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge is opening up about the harsh realities of divorce. During a question and answer session with her followers via Instagram Story, she got candid about how her 2011 divorce from ex-husband Simon Barney changed her family and the relationship she has with her children
A follower asked Tamra, 52, “What are 3 misconceptions about you?”
She responded, “That my kids don’t speak to me or that I lost custody. 100% a lie.”
However, she did admit the divorce “destroyed” her family. “My daughter Sidney stopped speaking to me 5 years ago,” she wrote. “I fought hard for her and that's why it was so public.”
Things between Tamra and her daughter seemed to be getting better in 2017 when she attended Sidney’s high school graduation. However, after Tamra posted pictures of the intimate family event to social media, their fragile truce crumbled.

In December 2018, during the RHOC season 13 reunion special she revealed that though she and Sidney still weren't on speaking terms, she remained hopeful. “I don’t think I’m at a point of no return,” she said at the time.“I think there’s going to be a time where we’re going to be back together.”
On Instagram, Tamra explained that her son Spencer lives with her but doesn’t speak to his dad, and her youngest daughter Sophia, “splits her time between parents.”
“It’s a sad and painful situation that too many families go through,” Tamra added.
