In the already tragic tale of Real Housewives of Orange County’s Gina Kirschenheiter divorce, things have taken a sad turn. The reality star, 35, claimed her estranged husband Matt Kirschenheiter had an affair before the divorce filing in November 2018. She revealed her suspicions on the August 20 episode of the Bravo series.
Gina broke down in tears to costar Emily Simpson. “I’ve just been carrying it around for so long and not being able to talk about it,” Gina sobbed.
She added, “It does feel good, at least, to just say it and try to heal from it.” Once she confided in the fellow housewife, 43, she felt a rush of relief.
Gina claimed that her suspicions peaked when she found a Valentine’s Day card written to Matt by another woman in his car. He allegedly saw this woman for six months and failed to mention it. Gina fully believes now that she and Matt could never have a real connection again.

The Long Island native also confessed that she kept quiet about the alleged affair in order to protect her children. She and Matt share kids Nicholas, Luca, and Sienna.
“When I filed for divorce and meeting everyone going forward for our kids’ sake, I just felt like it wasn’t necessary to share that. I didn’t want to take that from my kids,” Gina explained. “Plus, I wasn’t with him anymore so it didn’t matter. So I just let it go. We’ve been coparenting really well and I was so proud of us.”
She added, “I thought I was doing the right thing, to protect my kids and that’s all that really matters to me. I don’t want my kids to think their father is a bad person, ’cause he’s not. I don’t want to be the reason that anyone would look at him badly. He’s not a bad person, it’s just hard.”
The divorce between Gina and Matt has been an uphill battle, but there is some hope for the RHOC star. On August 20, it was revealed that she will received $10,000 a month in child and spousal support, along with get primary custody of her kids.
