Rumors have been swirling about Vicki Gunvalson’s engagement to Steve Lodge since they announced the news. Was this strategically done in order to save her full-time position on the upcoming 14th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County? Read on for all the details.

“Vicki definitely did not get engaged just to get a spot on RHOC this season,” a source told HollywoodLife on Monday, May 6.

“The plan, all along was for Vicki to be a cast member on RHOC because she’s great for the show,” the insider said. “Not to mention, she’s the ‘OG of the OC’ and the franchise itself.”
Vicki, 57, announced her engagement to Steve, 60, on Friday, April 26, 2019.

There were rumblings about Vicki getting engaged to save her full-time position on RHOC way before it even happened.

“No matter how much partying Vicki does, without an engagement from Steve on camera, she doesn’t have a story line and she isn’t going to be a full-time housewife,” a source told RadarOnline back in March.

Vicki celebrated her engagement with her RHOC costars during their wild trip to Miami last week.

The mother-of-two has been the show’s longest-running cast member. She’s been full-time ever since RHOC premiered back in 2006.
