Vicki Gunvalson spent part of her Mother’s Day reflecting on the passing of her own mom, Joanne Steinmetz, who died suddenly in 2015. She penned a heartbreaking Instagram post on Sunday, May 12, about the heartache she still feels all this time later. Read on for all the details.
The RHOC cameras were filming when Vicki found out about Joanne’s passing during the show’s 10th season.
Her breakdown took place at RHOC costar Shannon Beador's bunko party.
“Being a mother is one of the most incredible gifts I have received in life,” she wrote on her Instagram. “I’m missing my mom especially on this Mother’s Day. My mother was an incredible mom and Nana who is loved and missed.”

“I so wish I had the opportunity to meet her,” Vicki’s fiancé Steve Lodge wrote on her post. “I think we would have gotten along well.”
Vicki brought up Steve’s mother Helga in the post as well, saying that Joanne would’ve “loved to have known” her.
The mother-of-two was still dating ex-boyfriend and cancer faker Brooks Ayers at the time of Joanne’s death. She’s now suing him for money he allegedly owes her.
