'Real Housewives of New York City' Star Sonja Morgan Has Epic Meltdown At Her Own Runway Show After Bashing Trans Models During NYFW
Sept. 14 2019, Updated 12:25 p.m. ET
Real Housewives of New York City star Sonja Morgan crumbled under the pressure and had a total meltdown at her own runway show during New York Fashion Week on Friday, September 13. The incident came just days after she issued an apology for making insensitive remarks about a transgender model who was walking in the Garo Sparo fashion show.
"Sonja seemed to be in a completely manic state as people arrived for her show. She kept shouting, and even pushed a female guest! She and her showrunner seemed to be having some logistical issues, and neither of them handled it well," an eyewitness told OKMagazine.com.
The eyewitness continued, "Sonja’s PR spent much of the night scurrying around the room attempting to explain away her concerning behavior, blaming it on stress. They also tried to brush aside her anti-trans comments by citing how many gay people she employs on her team.”
Sonja, 55, and costar Dorinda Medley, 54, found themselves in hot water on September 10, when a video surfaced on Sonja's Instagram Stories that captured them making disparaging comments about trans model Yasmine Petty.

"Well, with a body like that, it’s a guy. That’s a guy," Dorinda could be overheard saying while sitting front row. "Yeah, with a body like that it’s a guy, you’re absolutely right," Sonja added.
Yasmine, 31, spoke out after the video surfaced and expressed her disappointment in their behavior. “It’s pretty disheartening and disappointing, especially this day in age and being in New York City. My philosophy is that people can’t choose their sexual orientation. They can’t choose their gender identity. They can’t choose or not choose to have a disability or a mental illness or even their race, but things people can choose to do is not to be rude and cruel to people over things they have no control over," she told Page Six Style.
Sonja and Dorinda were quick to issue an apology. “We have a history as long-standing supporters of the LGBTQ community in many ways and apologize for our offensive comments at the fashion show,” the reality stars said in a statement to on September 11.
