‘Real Housewives Of Potomac’ Star Monique Samuels Charged With Second-Degree Assault After Altercation With Castmate Candiace Dillard
Monique Samuels is facing some legal trouble. The Real Housewives of Potomac star, 36, has been charged with second-degree assault after she allegedly got physical during a fight with her costar Candiace Dillard, according to PEOPLE.
According to court records, Monique has been charged by the District Court of Montgomery County in Maryland after Candiace, 32, filed a complaint directly with the court’s commissioner on Thursday, November 7. The commissioner found probably cause in Candiace’s complaint and issued a summons for Monique to appear in court on December 23, 2019.
If the appointed judge agrees with the probable cause, Monique could be arrested right then and there. A second-degree assault conviction would also come with potential jail time.
The incident initially took place back on October 16. Reports says that the two women were at a dinner party alongside their other RHOP cast member when Monique grabbed Candiace by the hair and pulled the reality star down.

Bravo cameras were apparently filming while the whole incident took place. The franchise was filming for their upcoming fifth season.
While Monique didn’t submit a statement, Candiace’s personal attorney James L. Walker, Jr provided PEOPLE with an exclusive statement. “At this time, we do not want to say too much and just allow the criminal process to play out. We only ask everyone to pray for our client Candiace and her family,” Walker stated.
“We also pray that Monique will get some help,” said Walker. “The summons to court charge of Second-Degree Assault is just one step below first-degree assault and must be taken very seriously. This behavior has no place in our society.” Walker ended his statement by asking that “everyone respect the privacy of the parties and allow the Montgomery County District Court to exercise its duty here to protect victims like Candiace.”
Monique and Candiace became real close during the taping of the third season of RHOP. However, it was obvious that things fell apart in their friendship during season 4 but the ladies seemed to have made amends during the final part of the RHOP reunion that aired in September 2019.
