Just hours after rejoining her loyal Navy on Instagram on Monday, Rihanna unveiled another fierce surprise! Rih Rih took to her Instagram to post the cover shot and images from her feature in Elle’s December 2014 issue.

The mag marks Rihanna’s first cover since she graced the September issue of W Magazine.
The gorgoues photos were shot by Paola Kudacki. And Elle’s editor-in-chief Robbie Myers gushed over the images in her Editor’s Letter for the issue.
“When I got copies of the images sent to my hotel in Paris—the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme, where I’ve stayed for 15 years now—during the spring 2015 collections, I was transfixed by the close-up of Rihanna wearing nothing but a Yeprem necklace,” Myers said. “There is something so beautiful and ancient and beyond fashion about that picture; she looks raw and vulnerable and regal, all at once.”
Rihanna’s styling for the shoot is ultra glam, with the singer departing from the sportswear chic looks she’s been rocking lately. And with an eBay survey finding that 38 percent of shoppers were inspired by Ri’s recent sneaker style, it looks like our favorite bad girl may be leading some new trends with her outfits in the mag.

The emergence of the shoot is adding fuel to rumors that Rihanna will soon make her return to music with the release of her eighth studio album. The project is rumored to be dropping at the end of November. And after Rihanna included a curious #R8 hashtag on a photo she posted to Twitter in June, may fans believe Ri was dropping a hint about the new project’s title.
Then, in October, Rihanna posted a picture from inside a music studio. “Burning candles inside of the studio, rappin n prayin…” she captioned the photo.
Rihanna’s last studio album was 2012’s Unapologetic, which was the singer’s first No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 album chart. The album sold a total of 238,000 copies during its first week, reports Billboard.
But with the amount of anticipation surrounding RiRi’s first project in two years, her new album will likely surpass those sales numbers.

Since we have yet to get any official word on a release date or album title, though, the wait will simply have to continue!
