Rihanna Takes A Jab At Victoria’s Secret After Transphobic Comments
Nov. 12 2018, Updated 3:42 p.m. ET
Rihanna is not happy with Victoria’s Secret and she’s let the world know it. The singer clapped back at the brand’s director after he made some comments that indicated he wasn’t okay hiring certain types of women to model in the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Keep reading for more details.
Rihanna quietly, but effectively stood up for all women after Ed Razek, the director for Victoria's Secret's parent company, implied the show is against hiring trans or plus-size models. He said to Vogue, "So it’s like, why don’t you do 50? Why don’t you do 60? Why don’t you do 24? It’s like, why doesn’t your show do this? Shouldn’t you have transsexuals in the show? No. No, I don’t think we should. Well, why not? Because the show is a fantasy. It’s a 42-minute entertainment special."
Those remarks didn't sit well with Riri, who as OK! readers know has her own lingerie line Savage X Fenty, or the models she included in her brand's fashion show in September. The Barbados native made headlines for her decision to be inclusive and show different types of women on her runway.
Plus-sized model Louise O'Reilly, who walked the runway for Savage X Fenty, tweeted them with her own input saying "thank god @Rihanna brought us @SavageXFenty this year with genuine attention and love of diversity in her branding." She tagged the entertainer who then "liked" the post.

The brand then issued an apology from their director.
In a tweet, the statement said "my remark regarding the inclusion of transgender models in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show came across as insensitive. I apologize."
