Pop singer Rita Ora may be having a “foot in mouth” moment, as she’s getting dragged all over the internet for tweeting about having a date night with MMA boxer Conor McGregor. Here’s the problem: he’s been in a relationship for nine years now with his childhood sweetheart Dee Devlin, who he shares one child with. Was this just a bad choice of words moment for the “Shine Ya Light” singer, or is something going on between them?
Rita and Conor attended The 2017 Fashion Awards in London, where they cozied up to one another during the ceremony.
They both looked happy and laughing together, as Conor propped himself right next to her before they took a selfie.
Rita tweeted about her exciting evening with the handsome boxer, saying “Date night @thenotoriousMMA”. Although these particular pics looked harmless enough, Twitter wasn’t having it and dragged her all over the place.
Twitter user Stephen Patten threw out some major shade towards Rita, tweeting "You've got a fine Irish steak at home mate. No need to ruin it with a McDonald’s,” whereas user Janet Mush said "Date night with a married man? This a common thing for you, isn’t it Hun.”

Conor isn’t married, but he has been with his girlfriend Dee for nine years and they have one child together, Conor Jack, who was born on May 5th of this year. So was her tweet taken out of context and she was just having fun?
A spokesperson for Rita said that it was taken out of context, saying "Date night is a figure of speech, Rita also posted selfies with Donatella Versace as her real date and one with Jourdan Dunn as her date.”
This isn’t the first time that she has been accused of messing with a man who is taken. Beyonce fans went in on her after there were accusations of her hooking up with Jay-Z while he was married to the “Drunk in Love” singer. Perhaps this is why social media was quick to jump to conclusions based on her “innocent” tweet?
