Following a year of ups and downs, Ryan Edwards has relapsed and failed a court-ordered drug test back in January of 2018. RadarOnline.com revealed the exclusive details from the Teen Mom OG dad's latest troubles.
In court papers obtained by Radar from Red Bank City Court in Tennessee, the reality star dad tested positive for opiates and morphine in a urine sample collected on January 17, 2018.
As seen on the MTV series, Ryan's choice of drug before checking into rehab was heroin. The drug is classified as an opiate.
Two months later, Ryan, was later arrested on March 27, 2018 for petition to revoke, which means breaking probation from his March 12, 2017 bust.
“He failed the scheduled drug test,” a source claimed to Radar. “That is why they charged him with petition to revoke.”
As Radar previously reported, in March 2017 Ryan was pulled over by police during a traffic stop for expired registration. According to the police report, an officer observed a hypodermic needle in an open backpack on the passenger seat.
“I asked Edwards if he had any medical conditions and he replied, ‘No,’” the citation read. “I then asked why he had a hypodermic needle in his backpack and he replied, ‘I don’t know.’ I told them that the vehicle will be searched and he should inform me if there are more and Edwards replied, ‘Yes, probably.”
Authorities found 14 hypodermic needles, one of which was loaded with heroin, and a bag with a dark substance inside. “I asked Edwards what it was and he replied, ‘It’s heroin and I have a problem.’” During the search, authorities also recovered two silver spoons with residue on them and a scale. The heroin was weighed and found to be 1.8 grams.

Following the search, it appears that Ryan was not arrested and was instead issued a misdemeanor citation for simple possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and expired registration. He was given a court date of April 10, 2017.
He pled guilty to the simple possession of heroin charge. He was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in jail. The sentence was suspended upon payment of a $750 fine and good behavior. He was ordered to take drug screenings for six months. The possession of drug paraphernalia and expired registration offenses were dismissed.
On the previous season of TMOG, Ryan was caught on camera driving under the influence to his own wedding to Mackenzie. Following the episode, Ryan checked into rehab for heroin addiction and stayed for only 21 days.
Just one day before his March 2018 arrest news broke, the reality series revealed that he is expecting his second child, but his first with his wife. According to Radar, they plan to name their son Jagger.
As seen on the second part of the Teen Mom OG reunion, Maci Bookout, Ryan's first baby mama, admitted she thinks he isn't clean yet.
As seen on the recently season, Maci requested Ryan to take a drug test prior to spending time with their son, Bentley. However, he refused to do so and back in March when the reunion was taped, she admitted he still hasn't taken one!
