Ryan Edwards Is in ‘Denial’ About His Addiction
Dec. 25 2018, Updated 1:17 p.m. ET
Ryan Edwards has had a rough few years, as seen on Teen Mom OG. The reality star dad has released from jail following his July 23rd arrest and as of right now, he has no plans in the future to seek help.
“There are no plans for him to go to rehab,” a source told Us Weekly. “He is happy to be out of jail. Obviously, he was sober while he was in jail."
Despite all of his troubles, his wife, Mackenzie Standifer is "sticking with him."
Ryan is "in complete denial" about his addiction issues, but if he decides to seek help, “MTV has made it clear to both Mackenzie and Ryan that should he decide to seek treatment, they will make it happen,” the source added.
However, “He refuses to go to rehab and get help.”
As previously seen on the latest season of Teen Mom OG, Ryan admitted to being addicted to heroin. In May of 2017, he checked himself into rehab for 21 days, just after he married Mackenzie.

On the show, Mackenzie revealed that Ryan was using up to three times a day, which cost around $10,000 a week.
A citation obtained by Radar from Red Bank City Court revealed that Ryan was first pulled over by police on March 17, 2017 for possession of heroin. During a vehicle search, police found fourteen hypodermic needles, one of which was loaded with heroin, and a bag tied in the center console with a dark substance inside. A year later on March 27, 2018, he was arrested for petition to revoke from the March 2017 bust.
Radar also reported that the reality star failed a scheduled drug test on January 17, 2018, the reason behind his March 2018 arrest. He tested positive for opiates and morphine in a urine sample. An insider claimed Ryan “got six months probation and five public work days" with "random drug tests in between."
Recently, Ryan was arrested on July 23rd, 2018 for petition to revoke, which means breaking probation from a past simple possession of heroin arrest. He was held on no bond and was given the August 6th court date.
However, Ryan is now a free man! The former Teen Mom OG star has been released from Hamilton County Jail around 1:50am on Monday, July 31st. A spokesperson for Hamilton County Jail explained to Radar how his court hearing was moved up to July 31st. “The first charge of simple possession of heroin, petition to revoke has been dismissed,” the spokesperson explained. “For the second charge, he was given 11 months and 29 days suspended sentence.” Maci Bookout’s ex must complete six months of probation and five public work days.
