Last year Ryan Edwards spent less than 30 days in rehab for substance abuse after checking himself in following the chilling season finale of Teen Mom OG. On the current season of the MTV reality show, friends and family members are worried about the troubled father. However, Ryan's pregnant wife, Mackenzie, is in "denial" about his issues.
“Mackenzie is in complete abject denial about Ryan’s drug addiction and issues surrounding how very, very serious it truly is,” a source told Us Weekly.
Adding, “Mackenzie only wants to focus on having his baby and seems to be hoping that this will help him to be inspired to live a clean and sober life.”
“Ryan denies the seriousness of the drug addiction, like any addict will do, and Mackenzie chooses to believe him,” the source added.
As seen on last season of Teen Mom OG, Ryan was caught on camera driving under the influence. Just days after the finale aired, he checked himself into rehab for less than 30 days for substance abuse.
On the current season of the MTV reality series, Mackenzie confessed that prior to checking into rehab, Ryan was spending around $10,000 a week to purchase heroin and was using three times daily.
Also revealed this season, Mackenzie is pregnant with their first child.
As previously reported, Ryan was arrested on March 27th 2018, for petition to revoke, which means breaking probation, for a past March 2017 possession of heroin arrest.
Also reported within the last week, Ryan's ex, Maci Bookout, and her husband, Taylor McKinney, requested protection orders against the troubled MTV dad. Also listed on the protection order request was Maci's son with Ryan, 9-year-old Bentley, and her two children with Taylor, Jayde and Maverick.

A temporary protection order was granted until their next court date in May.
Taylor listed an incident that happened on March 20th, just days before Ryan's arrest. “He called me on Tuesday, March 20th, 2018 and threatened to show up at my house and put a bullet in my head,” Taylor claimed. “The police were called and they suggested to seek an order of protection.”
Maci claimed, "He has left voicemail messages threatening to show up at my house and take my son." Adding, “He has made threats to show up and hurt me if I don’t answer my phone.”
Maci listed an incident from May 2017 claiming that Ryan "show up to my son's baseball game under the influence of heroin and got in my face, yelling and threatening to hurt me."
"I fear for my son's safety because of these threats and proof that he drives while under the influence," the mother wrote, according to the documents.
Maci claimed that Ryan's "behavior and actions are getting worse." She wrote, "I am fearful for my three children and myself and what he may do, based on his threats."
Maci requested that Ryan is not allowed to contact her and that he must stay away from her home and workplace. She also requested that he does not damage her home and hurt or threaten her animals.
