John Legend is a newbie to swimming but he’s already getting lessons from Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte! The EGOT winner just began taking lessons in January 2019 but Ryan seems confident that he’ll be ready for the 2020 Olympics.
Ryan, 34, posted a video of him teaching John, 40, how to master the freestyle stroke on April 8. “Not a bad way to start my week. Swimming with @johnlegend giving him some swim tips,” he captioned the video.
The 12-time Olympic medalist also joked, “Getting him ready for 2020 Olympics haha!”
After the two completed a lap the EGOT winner announced, “I made the team!”

Luna proudly cheered on her dad as she also received swim lessons in the family’s backyard pool.
On January 28 John announced on Twitter he was taking his first swim lesson since he was 5. A fan asked if he was learning with his kids and John revealed, “The already started months ago!”
