Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have yet to release any information about their daughter since welcoming her six weeks ago. But soon after news broke that the actress had given birth, reports claimed that the duo named their baby girl Violet. The Voices actor is finally opening up about the baby name rumors and fatherhood!
Soon after the cute couple’s daughter was born, a hospital employee tweeted, “Congrats @blakelively #blakelively glad to have you and baby girl violet in our care.” The new dad told USA Today in regards to the rumored moniker, “No that’s not the name. I don’t want to get into that but I don’t know where that came from.”
While the actor always looks swoon-worthy, he insisted that he’s sleep deprived! “It’s still so new that it’s hard to conceive being away for more than seven hours at a time. I had to go to Sundance this last week. I was more excited to get a good night’s sleep. It was borderline pornographic for me.”
But although he doesn’t sleep very much, he enjoys his new role as dad! “It’s great. It’s wonderful. But my brain is elsewhere.”

The Gossip Girl alum also opened up about her newest addition soon after the birth. She told People in January, “I don’t feel like it’s a massive change. I do want to just enjoy this moment.” She added, “This is the happiest time of my life, and I could say that every day. I often feel like, ‘I can’t believe I’m experiencing this.’”

Page Six was the first to report that the duo welcomed their child over the holidays. Sources explained that although the baby arrived early, the mom and newborn are happy and healthy!
