Aidy Bryant Calls Herself ‘Fat’ — ‘I’m Not Afraid Of Saying That’

Aidy Bryant says she’s “fat” and that’s ok! The Saturday Night Live star opened up about her thoughts on body positivity on March 12.
Aidy, 31, exclusively revealed to Cosmopolitan, “Yeah, I’m fat. I’m not afraid of saying that.”
She continued, “And there are a lot of euphemistic ways to soften it, like, ‘She’s chunky or curvy.’ But there’s something to be said for just owning it and not letting it destroy me.”

The SNL star also revealed, “I don’t want to just be a curvy babe,” explaining, “I wanted to create a fat character that you fall in love with and can’t help but root for.”
The comedian is gearing for a lead role in Shrill which premieres on Hulu on March 15. The show chronicles a plus-size woman, played by Aidy, succeeding in life and love without a forced slimdown.
