Selena Gomez is back on the scene! The “It Ain’t Me” singer was spotted out and about in New York City on Friday, just one day after she revealed the shocking news that she’d undergone a kidney transplant. As Selena fans know, the singer was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disease, in 2013. Due to the painful disease, Selena was forced to get the transplant. Amazingly, her best friend, actress Francia Raisa, was able to donate the kidney that saved Selena’s life, and now Selena is looking healthier than ever. Click through to see the pics!
Selena looked too cute in this chic blue and white dress. She paired the simple outfit with gold hoops and white sneakers.
Selena was candid about her surgery on Instagram, writing, “I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health.”
The singer went on to thank her friend Francia for helping to save her life: “There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis.”

Although Selena underwent the major surgery in May, she’s already back at work, filming a new yet untitled Woody Allen movie.
While staying in the city, Selena is living with her boyfriend, The Weeknd. The two recently stepped out together at the 2017 Harper’s Bazaar Icons party during New York Fashion Week.
