Is Selena Gomez's new song a shot at ex Justin Bieber? The singer teased her upcoming single "Lose You To Love Me" on social media on Friday, October 18, and fans are already speculating that the tune pertains to her failed romance with the "Sorry" crooner.
"I don't even have to listen to this to know this is going to be about Justin Bieber," one fan wrote in the comments section of her post. "Don’t tell me she’s going to talk about Justin. MOVE ON man," another one of her followers added.
While some of her 157 million Instagram followers were less than kind, most of them were over the moon about her releasing new music for the first time in over four years. "Welcome back! Can't wait for this fall banger," one fan enthusiastically responded. "Yes ma'am claim that crown. We're ready," someone else wrote.
The "Come & Get It" songstress explained why it was taking her so long to put out her new album during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in June 2019. She also hinted that the material would be quite personal. "It's just because I've had such huge moments that happened in my life personally that it made me wonder how I was gonna capture that and how was I gonna actually feel good about what I was saying. So I just kept going and I'm relieved now," she said.

Selena has had her fair share of challenges in recent years. She reignited her romance with longtime love Justin only to have it fizzle yet again in March 2018. Just a few months after their breakup, the pop star proposed to now-wife Hailey Baldwin in July 2018 and they quietly married at a New York City courthouse that September.
Selena entered rehab for mental health issues shortly after Justin's courthouse wedding in October 2018. At the time, fans speculated that she was struggling to deal with the fact that he moved on so quickly and permanently after their split.
She also reportedly had a fall-out with Francia Raisa, her best friend who donated a kidney to her when she needed a life-saving kidney transplant due to complications from lupus.
