Selena Gomez Reveals She Used To Get 'Very Protective' Of Her Parents' Dating Lives

Though she was still young when her parents Mandy Teefey and Joel Gomez split up (back when she was only 5 years old), growing up Selena made it her mission to make sure they were able to find romance again with the right people.
In fact, she admitted to Entertainment Tonight recently that she was VERY opinionated when it came to their potential love interests. "I like to say that I have decent discernment," she said.
"But I come from a separated family, so I used to get very protective of my parents when they would date." So much so that she would “give them a little test.”
