Selma Blair Rushes To James Gunn's Defense After Pedo Tweets Resurface
Selma Blair came to director James Gunn's defense after a series of offensive and pedophilia-laden tweets were recently unearthed from his Twitter.
The 51-year old's tweets from 2008 came bubbling to the surface this week.
The tweets made rape, molestation and pedophilia jokes which subsequently led to his firing from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
The director has helmed the first two movies of the Guardians universe and was credited as an executive producer on Avengers Infinity War.
The Legally Blonde star urged fans to sign a Change.org petition to get Marvel/Disney to rehire James. The petition needs at least 200,00 names and as of Monday, has over 192,00 signatures.
Selma tweeted her support to the director on Twitter by saying "Marvel: RE-HIRE JAMES GUNN - Sign the Petition! https://chn.ge/2JIuUrB via
@Change. Because if people are punished despite changing, then what does that teach people about owning mistakes and evolving? This man is one of the good ones." She also extended her hand to James by writing, "I thank you for your talent, your decency and your evolution as a man.”
