Significant life changes like marriage, children, and a huge transatlantic move have done nothing but strengthen the bond between Meghan Markle and Serena Williams. Recently, the tennis player got candid about their friendship. Keep reading to see what she had to say.
During a new Australian news interview, the 36-year-old was asked if she and the Duchess ever swap advice. “We were actually just texting each other this morning,” she admitted.
The mother of one continued, “We have known each other for a long time, but we really are relying on each other a lot recently.”
Serena also took a moment to gush about the Royal Wedding — which she attended with her own husband Alexis Ohanian Sr. “I felt like we were literally watching history. I feel like in a few years, when I look back at that moment, it’s just gonna be so historic. It’s gonna be something people never forget.”

However, she stressed that the best part of the wedding was the bride herself. “The whole service was really wonderful, and most of all I just wanted to see my friend be happy. I think that’s what happened,” said the 23-time Grand Slam winner.
Her remarks come just weeks after an insider explained that the Duchess of Sussex was finding it difficult to make new friends as a result of her “trust issues.” It appears that she is instead keeping her longtime companions even closer.
