It's splitsville for singer Monica and former Los Angeles Lakers player Shannon Brown. She filed for divorce in early March in Atlanta.
The 38-year-old married the NBA star for the first time in November 2010 in a secret ceremony. But the couple tied the knot for the second time in July 2011.
The "Boy is Mine" songstress and the basketball player share a five-year-old daughter named Laiyah Shannon. Monica also has two sons from previous relationships.
Monica stopped wearing her wedding ring around the end of February.
It also looks like she's leaning on her friends for support. On February 28, she posted a photo with Toya Wright and Tiny. She wrote, "Associates are met in passing, friends are meant to be forever. Loyalty over everything. Family before anything."
Just a day before the R&B singer filed for divorce, she posted this snap on Instagram with the caption, "Blessings flow in abundance when you uplift the ones that stay down with you!! May God have Mercy on those that mistreat you."
