Many children might be excited to write a letter to Santa Claus during the holidays. But not this one six-year-old boy, who hilariously wrote a scathing letter to St. Nick as part of a school assignment. Spoiler alert: he was not happy about it. Click through for all the details!
He immediately set the tone at the beginning of the letter, so that there were no questions about his intent. “Santa Im only doing this for the class.”
Oh my! But he didn’t stop there. He revealed a startling admission in perhaps an attempt to explain his tone, “You don't know the trouble Ive had in my life.”
So what was the “trouble” he was talking about? According to his mom, who posted the letter on Twitter, it was his brother. “Don’t call child services,” she added.
And without signing off (“Im not telling you my name,” he wrote), he ended simply with “Goodbye.”

Despite the boy’s tone in the letter, his dad told Redbook magazine that he’s actually a really nice child. “He's always the first to insist we decorate the house and start playing Christmas music,” he said. “He just likes to feel that people are being straight with him. I think he felt kind of like you or I would feel if one of our bosses said to write a letter to Santa Claus.”
He also added, “Some of the kids at school have been giving him grief about not being a Santa Claus guy, so I think part of what he wrote was a reaction to that.”
