'Where's Carrie?' — Social Media Flips Out Over The 2018 CMA Nominations
Aug. 28 2018, Updated 3:36 p.m. ET
The 2018 CMA Nominations were revealed on Tuesday morning, and social media exploded in anger about one category in particular.
For the second year in a row, not a single woman was nominated for Entertainer of the Year. The nominees this time around are Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban.
Fans were not happy about the complete lack of women in this category, and spoke out about it on social media. "It’s extremely frustrating that a girl does not win this category and now one is not even represented!!! @MarenMorris @carrieunderwood and @mirandalambert touring with @littlebigtown and flawless voices. What more can a girl do?"
Maren, Carrie and Miranda alongside Kacey Musgraves and Kelsea Ballerini will all compete for Female Vocalist of the Year on November 14th. The show will air on ABC.
