Sofia Richie appears to be doing damage control after fans accused her of posting an insensitive Instagram post on Monday evening, October 28. The picture in question pertains to the unfortunate California wildfires that have impacted the lives of many.
In the photo, Sofia rocked gold pants, black stilettos and a white shirt. The model pulled her hair into a bun and she wrote, “Santa Ana winds – messy bun” as the caption.
Shortly after the post was uploaded, many fans shared their thoughts on the matter. “200,000 people evacuated and 2 million people without power but okay go ahead flex?? Could u be any more insensitive,” one user wrote. Another added, “Sofia Richie talking about how the Santa Anas are great for her hair might be the most tone-deaf thing I’ve ever seen!”
One day after the fan blowback, Sofia shared a message to her Instagram Stories. “Sending my love and prayers to everyone affected by the fires. Tonight’s wind is going to be brutal. Please stay safe,” she wrote.
The model has shown that she is well aware of the fires and documented the impact to her social media account. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time the wildfires have affected residents of California. Back in 2018, the Kardashians and more were forced to evacuate their property.
Despite the drama on her Instagram, Sofia’s romance with Scott Disick appears to be going steady. On the October 6 episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Sofia made her debut on the series. During the episode, Scott, 36, attempted to make both his girlfriend and baby mother Kourtney Kardashian comfortable while on a family trip to Finland.
“Traveling with a family like this is a unique situation that not everyone does. I definitely think this trip, out of the other trips we’ve been on, has a little bit more pressure because the truth of the matter is, there are camera crews everywhere,” the Talentless creator explained. “Tons of people walking around that Kourtney and I have known for over 10 years. Sofia has never really done anything like this before. It’s hard. I don’t want her to feel out of place, I don’t want her to feel like she’s not as comfortable as I am. I’m just trying to be cautious of everyone’s feelings.”
