The Modern Family star fought for three years to gain emancipation from her mother following her removal from her mother’s home in 2012 for allegations of abuse.
Since the age of 14 Ariel was under the care of her 37-year-old sister Shanelle Gray. Ariel considers her sister as more of a mother figure and says, “She’s the most important thing to me… I count on her more than anything.”
Amanda Bynes filed for emancipation from her parents and even threatened to kill them, according to reports. In a 2014 Twitter rant Amanda explained why she clashes with her father, listing reasons of verbal, physical, and even possible sexual abuse.
