Tamar Braxton made an adorable admission about her dating life during the April 13 episode of The Real — she went on a date with NBA legend Kobe Bryant!
Speaking to her The Real girls, Tamar said that she once went on a “friendly date” with Kobe when he was first kicking off his NBA career! “I remember first meeting Kobe in Philly, right. This is when he first got drafted, right,” Braxton said. “And we kinda went on a like a friendly date, sorta.”
The reveal prompted some shocked responses from her castmates Loni Love and Tamera Mowry! But Braxton insisted there wasn’t any love connection formed during their date! “Ooh, no ooh. We went to Fridays. And discovered we was like homies,” Braxton said.
Along with discussing their date on The Real, Braxton also took to her Instagram to cheer on the basketball great ahead of his final NBA game on Wednesday night! She posted a super sweet throwback of the two, shouting out both Kobe and his wife, Vanessa Bryant!

But Tamar wasn’t the only The Real cast member with a Kobe story to share! Tamera also talked about his appearance on her and her sister Tia Mowry’s beloved TV show Sister, Sister.
“He actually was a, a guest star on Sister, Sister,” Tamera said, to which a surprised Jeannie Mai replied, “What?” Tamera added that herself and Tia had a huge crush on the basketballer. “Yes and I remember my sister and I just looking at him and we had the biggest crush on him,” she said.
“You did?” Braxton replied. “Yes, we did. Then he took Brandy uh, to prom. You all remember that?” Tamera asked the audience with a joking frown. But she added that Kobe had a great work ethic during his time on their show. “But he was really, really focused. I can remember it. So, congratulations to Kobe. To you and your family. Very nice. Very nice,” she said. What do you think about Tamar and Kobe's throwback date? Tweet us @OKMagazine or let us know in the comments section.
