The Real ladies are continuing to deny they had any knowledge that Tamar Braxton was leaving the hit talk show as they reveal some new details about the firing drama that rocked the show’s second season!
Speaking to Mario Lopez on Extra in their first interview since Braxton’s firing scandal was exposed, the show’s remaining co-hosts — Tamera Mowry, Adrienne Bailon, Loni Love and Jeannie Mai — appeared to be in good spirits as they discussed Braxton’s shocking exit!
“First of all, we want to let all of our fans know that we love them and we were totally taken by surprise when we found out that Tamar wouldn’t be returning to The Real,” Love said. “We love her.”
All of the girls went on to say that they were all very close during their past two seasons together on the show. And Mowry added that Braxton's absence will be felt. “We will miss her dearly,” Mowry said.
In an earlier interview with The Tom Joyner Morning Show, Love admitted that she still hasn’t spoken to Braxton since she left the show. “I haven’t heard from Tamar,” Love said. “But I have seen her messages, and she’s made peace with the show. And we really do wish her well.” And she added that The Real team has already started the search for a new co-host. “We’re going to have another co-host because the whole purpose of the show is to get as many different personalities as we can,” she said. “So we will be looking for another co-host.”
“We’re going to miss [Tamar]. But we just have to move on with the show. And we have to think about our fans,” Love added.
And part of their preparations for the show’s Season 3 include a stop at Essence Festival 2016 in New Orleans, Louisiana! “We are going down to New Orleans, July 1. We are having a real live show on the Essence main stage [in the Convention Center] — it’s free, anybody can come. We're gonna have some live girl chat. We’re gonna be doing everything we can to give and show love to our fans,” Love said. What do you think about The Real ladies’ comments on Tamar’s exit?
