A man has been arrested for stalking Taylor Swift and sentenced to six months in jail. The perpetrator was also accused of attempted burglary when he broke into the pop star's New York apartment.

The Manhattan District Attorney's Office told E! News that Mohammed Jaffar plead guilty to attempted burglary in the second degree on May 7 and was given a sentence of six months in jail and five years on probation on Wednesday.

He's also required to continue mental health treatment in Michigan after being arrested in Taylor's building in New York City last March.

After being arrested, the stalker was held on $20,000 bail and the "Look What You Made Me Do" singer was given an order of protection against him, barring any contact.
