Teen Killed In Greensboro Shooting Identified As ‘American Idol’ Winner Fantasia Barrino’s Nephew

American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino's 18-year-old nephew, Tyquan Vonricco Washington, was shot and killed tragically on Tuesday morning. Click through for the details.
Tyquan was found suffering from a gunshot wound just before 11 a.m. Tuesday morning. Emergency crews performed life-saving measures but he was pronounced dead at Moses Cone Hospital.
David Lee White Jr. has been arrested in connection with the shooting. The 21-year-old was charged with first-degree murder and is being held in the Guilford County Jail without bond.
Washington is the son of recording artist Ricco Barrino, and the nephew of American Idol and Grammy-winning singer Fantasia Barrino.

Ricco posted a heartfelt message to his son on Instagram after his death. "I wanted you to know that from the depths of my heart your daddy loves you and he always has," he wrote in the emotional post. "As I write this letter with tears streaming down my face I want you to know that I showed you tough love because I knew you were something special."
Fantasia posted a message to him on her Instagram as well, writing: "Ty Auntie is So Sorry Baby RIP to my Oldest Nephew Please Pray for his Mother and my Brother @riccobarrino & his Stepdad."
According to Fox News, his father said that he knew his son had gotten into some trouble but that he was turning his life around. He also said that Tyquan aspired to be a musician like him and was even recently working on a mixed tape.
