Teen Mom OG star Tyler Baltierra is continuing to get candid about his estranged wife Catelynn Lowell’s depression and subsequent rehabilitation. He recently headed to Twitter to defend himself against fans who have slammed him for being too callous about her recovery process.

The father of two retweeted a clip from the Teen Mom OG reunion special with Dr. Drew and Nessa. In the video, Dr. Drew encouraged Tyler to share his experience with Catelynn’s mental health struggles

“It seemed like you were really resentful and angry with her behavior around her illness,” Dr. Drew pointed out in the clip.

“Correct,” Tyler answered without hesitation. “And I learned that I have these resentments.”

After being asked if he blamed Catelynn for her illness, he answered honestly. “Yeah, after a certain amount of time, you’ve got to take accountability. ‘Uh Cate did you not notice you haven’t changed in three days? Did you not notice you haven’t gotten out of bed?’”

Though he admitted on-camera that he understood he might sound “insensitive,” on Twitter he doubled down on those sentiments. “Judge me. Hate me. Be angry with me. Don’t agree with me...I don’t care,” the 26-year-old wrote. “I’ll never stop speaking my truth.”

“I don’t blame anyone for being sick!” he insisted. “I blame the lack of action to use the remedy for that sickness. Becoming ill is not anyone’s fault...staying ill is a different story.”
