Tisha Campbell-Martin is opening up about her 22-year marriage to now-estranged husband Duane Martin. The Martin star has filed a restraining order against her ex and claims she stayed quiet about his abuse for years.
The 50-year-old actress filed for the restraining order on January 24. She said the most recent physical altercation happened in December 2018. At the time, Duane allegedly "grabbed her by her arm to try to get me in the bedroom."
In the affidavit obtained by The Blast, Tisha claimed her 53-year-old ex’s abuse started just after their 1996 nuptials.
“I had been emotionally, mentally and physically abused,” she said. “I kept things hidden from my family, his family, our friends, and the public, save a few very close friends and people who may have witnessed, over the past two decades, filing it away in the back of my mind to protect my family, the community and the public’s persona of my spouse.”
She explained that though she was afraid to speak up about the alleged abuse before, she now owes transparency to her children. The estranged couple share two sons: Xen, 9, and Ezekiel, 17.

“I can no longer live in fear of retaliation,” she said before adding, “The need to press criminal charges for his acts overshadows the embarrassment of making his crimes against me public through this report.”
This isn't the first time Tisha has gone to the cops as a result of the All of Us star's alleged actions. Earlier this month, she filed a police report with the LAPD after she claimed a dispute about money turned physical. She claimed he pinned her to the wall and placed an arm across her throat, effectively obstructing her breathing.
During another argument about Tisha’s weight gain and how it affected her career, she said he allegedly punched her in the chest “with a closed fist.”
Tisha was granted the restraining order, and Duane must now stay 100 yards away until their court hearing in February.
