Designer Tom Ford Is Beefing With Style Icon Amal Clooney

Amal Clooney might have looked flawless on the red carpet at the Met Gala this year, but behind the scenes things got ugly. Designer Tom Ford was angered by the fact that Amal went for another look at the last minute to rock on the red carpet, choosing to wear his original gown at the after-party instead.
The 40-year-old human rights lawyer and wife of George Clooney decided a few hours before the biggest night of fashion that she was going to wear her "backup" ensemble by British designer Richard Quinn.
While she looked amazing in the black pantsuit complete with a long, dramatic train, Tom was not pleased, Page Six reported.
Once they found out about the outfit change, Tom's team was "annoyed, obviously, but they were gracious, and and said it was fine to go with another designer, but they would prefer that Amal not wear the dress at all if she wasn't going to wear it on the Met Ball red carpet."

But Amal wore the crimson full-length gown at the Met Gala after-party, despite being told not to. The original dress was designed to look like a stained glass window, according to Page Six, to go with the theme "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination."
Because Amal wore the gown after the event, another A-lister won't be able to debut Tom's creation on a red carpet somewhere, hence why the designer's upset.
