Tyra's Got A Lawsuit! Banks Sued For 'Abusing' Girl On 'America's Got Talent'
Tyra Banks recently opened up a can of worms on America’s Got Talent. The mother of a young girl is suing the show's production company because host Tyra “physically manipulated and verbally abused” the daughter during the March 19th performance, according to the lawsuit filed on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
The alleged assault began after the girl, named Mary Doe in the suit, watched her parents perform a song about her and motherhood. But they were immediately “publicly humiliated by the panel of judges” as well as by some of the audience.
The mother also claimed that the former model “physically manipulated and verbally abused Mary” and that the production team urged the girl “to act embarrassed and annoyed by her parents’ performance.”

“Banks also insinuated that Mary was accidentally conceived, made fun of the performance and ridiculed (the) song in front of Mary, all in front of active cameras that were filming Mary.” The mother also described her daughter as “traumatized” and “deeply depressed” after the team's “abusive treatment.”
The plaintiffs asked Marathon Productions not to air the footage in order to prevent “further emotional distress.” The lawsuit explains that "they will not air those footages in their entirety.” The upcoming season of AGT is scheduled to air next week.
