She said that she gave her diet a major overhaul as she attempted to improve her eating habits. “It was over a three-month period,” Gunvalson said. “I cut out all alcohol … I was down to 500 calories a day. No carbs, so I just did lettuce and grapefruit in the morning… celery, carrots, whatever it could be. Just very raw, and then nothing really for lunch. I would just do water, lemon water. Hot lemon water. And then at night, I would just have salad and protein, and it worked!”

And she admitted that her split with Ayers amid his shocking cancer fakery scandal played a key role in her wanting to be healthier! “You know what, I was at such a depressed state,” Gunvalson said. “I'm 54 now, and your metabolism changes. I put on, like, 10 pounds from my 40s to my 50s, and I never felt strong. I don't want to be a bodybuilder. I don't want to do all that stuff, but I wanted to feel like, OK, I'm gonna be single now. I gotta look my best, right?”

Gunvalson sparked a little controversy among her fans when she was seen telling Ayers, “I love you,” in a clip from the first teaser video that was released for RHOC’s Season 11 in June. The teaser video ignited rumors that the two were possibly reconciling. But a rep for Gunvalson told RadarOnline.com that Vicki’s shocking chat with Ayers was the result of some crafty editing. “Vicki was edited,” the rep said. “They didn’t show her telling him that she loves him just like she loves all of her other exes. She loves Donn Gunvalson too!” The rep added that Ayers doesn’t make any on-camera appearances on RHOC’s Season 11. “Brooks isn’t on but Vicki does talk to him. She did tell him she loves him because she does,” the rep said.

And while speaking to ET, Gunvalson opened up about the new man in her life, Steve Lodge, and how she is moving on from her heartbreak with Ayers. “I'm protecting my heart, 'cause my heart really got stomped on and it got damaged,” Gunvalson said. “The new man has never watched The Real Housewives of Orange County. How crazy is that? So, he likes me for me! And not some thought of being on TV or such, which is very, very clean to me. It's very organic … he's courting me. So I'll take it, right?” What do you think bout Vicki’s new diet and breakup with Brooks? Tweet us @OKMagazine or let us know in the comments section.
