The VMAs are always packed with super memorable moments. But sometimes the most memorable part of the show is the actual host—for better or worse!
Do you remember all these MTV VMA hosts throughout the years? Some might surprise you, some will make you smile and many will confuse you. But hey, that's the VMA's!
Dan Akroyd and Bette Midler
The very first MTV Video Music Awards in 1984 were co-hosted by Dan Akroyd and Bette Midler. Quite a pairing!
Eddie Murphy
In 1985, Eddie Murphy signed up for hosting duties of the big show.
Martha Quinn
In 1986, MTV decided to have their own VJs run the night. Here is Martha Quinn at the podium.
MTV Vj's
They followed suit the next year with the VJs again. That 80s hair!
Arsenio Hall
From 1988 to 1991 there was only one choice for host: Arsenio Hall.
