Who Wore it Better? The Best Red Carpet Fashion Showdowns Ever
Jan. 28 2015, Updated 2:08 p.m. ET
It happens: there are only so many exquisite red-carpet dresses to be worn in any given season, and sometimes celebrities wind up wearing the same thing. OK! made some decisions on which celebrity wore the look better—see if you agree!
Winner: Gwen Stefani over Heidi Klum. Heidi’s casual top lacks excitement for these wild EVLEO trousers, while Gwen looks hella good in caged booties and a fedora.
Winner: Shenae Grimes over Aubrey O'Day. The mature design of this LOGO by Lori Goldstein for QVC tweed needs a fun offset like Shenae’s leopard leggings.
Winner: Yao Chen over Elle Fanning. With pumps and bare legs, Yao looks like a contemporary rock star in this music-note print Miu Miu mini. Elle’s hosiery is dated.
Kate Hudson vs. Lisa Vanderpump
Winner: Kate Hudson over Lisa Vanderpump. Kate goes for all-out glamour and succeeds in Alexander McQueen. Her ornate belt cinches her waist, while the deep, plunging keyhole shows of her décolletage.
Miranda Lambert vs. Aida Yespica
Winner: Miranda Lambert over Aida Yespica. While Aida looks fantastic, Miranda’s long, golden locks and pale complexion pop of this deep blue Roberto Cavalli gown. Her hot new bod doesn’t hurt either!
Kim Kardashian VS. Miranda Kerr
Winner: Kim Kardashian over Miranda Kerr. Kim offsets the ruggedness of her Saint Laurent shredded jeans with a sleek top, structured coat and pointy pumps. Miranda’s fringe jacket competes with the cool denim.
Elsa Pataky VS. Li Bingbing
Winner: Li Bingbing over Elsa Pataky. Sexy, glamorous, chic...This Elie Saab gown is everything! Bingbing lets the intricacies in the lace panels be the focus by foregoing any jewelry. Elsa’s drop earrings are pretty, but not necessary.
Carly Steel VS. Carla Gugino
WInner: Carla Gugino over Carly Steel. The deep green of this Hervé Léger by Max Azria dress really pops of of Carla’s rich, auburn hair. Carly gets props for sporting the new Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch, but not with this look.
Matthew Conaughey VS. Adam Lambert

Winner: Adam Lambert over Matthew McConaughey. This two-piece Vivienne Westwood suit has Adam looking sharp. Matt’s matching vest is overkill.
Darby Stanchfield VS. Karina Smirnoff
Winner: Darby Stanchfield over Karina Smirnoff.Darby maintains the ladylike look of her Alexa Von Canisius A-line with a modest top. Karina’s corset is too sexy.
Jourdan Dunn VS. Hayden Panettiere
Winner: Hayden Panettiere over Jourdan Dunn. A Jennifer Meyer diamond-encrusted brooch added extra pizzazz to Hayden’s Tom Ford gown. Jourdan looks beautiful, but her ensemble is a little boring without any major bling.
Cara Santana VS. Jane Krakowski
Winner: Cara Santana over Jane Krakowski. Jane looks fab in this Antonio Berardi gown, but the bodice is a bit too low-cut and revealing on her. Cara is polished and sexy without showing too much cleavage.
Marion Cotillard VS. Aura Garrido
Winner: Aura Garrido over Marion Cotillard. High-low hems are hip and Aura carries out the modern feel of this Christian Dior with her hair down. Marion’s big baubles and teased updo are reminiscent of an ’80s prom look.
Selena Gomez VS. Lydia Hearst
Winner: Selena Gomez over Lydia Hearst. A side braid and a healthy glow are all Selena needs to look flawless in Cushnie Et Ochs. Lydia’s long torso exaggerates the center cutout.
Cara Santana VS. Kat Graham
Winner: Cara Santana over Kat Graham. Bold red lips are all Cara needed to rock this sexy Versace one-piece. Kat’s distracting pumps draw the eye to her feet.
Kelly Killoren Bensimon VS. Sarah Drew
Winner: Kelly Killoren Bensimon over Sarah Drew. Two-tone booties liven up Kelly’s "Project Runway by Seth Aaron for QVC" skirtsuit. Sarah plays
it too safe with black pumps.
