'The Wire' & 'The Chi' Actress Sonja Sohn Arrested & Charged With Felony Possession Of Cocaine

Sonja Sohn, best known for her roles on The Wire and The Chi, was arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine on Sunday, July 21, in North Carolina, multiple outlets have confirmed.
Sonja, 55, played Detective Kima Greggs for five seasons of The Wire. She also stars as Laverne Johnson on The Chi.
In addition to her felony charge for cocaine possession, the actress was also hit with misdemeanors for alleged possession of drug and marijuana paraphernalia.
Officers allegedly found the illegal substance in her purse during a traffic stop.

She was also cited for driving with a revoked license and an expired registration, The New York Daily News reported.
The Showtime star was arrested around 2 a.m. on Sunday, July 21, by officers from the Dare County Sheriff’s Office.
Sonja had her mugshot taken and posted $1500 bail before leaving the station.
She is due back in court on Tuesday, July 23, for her arraignment.
