Fashion Week Diary: Stars Get Raw for G-Star
Sept. 16 2009, Published 11:56 a.m. ET
THE SHOW: G-Star Raw
WHO WAS THERE: Juliette Lewis, Cat Deeley, Jack Huston, Lindsay Lohan, Mena Suvari, Jared Leto, Alan Cumming, Taylor Momsen, Asher Book (and his mom), J. Alexander, Christian Siriano, Corbin Bleu, Matthew Settle, Katrina Bowden.
THE LOOK: Men's style inspired by military uniform and Depression-era workman's clothing. Lots of dungarees and epaulets. Women's wear was lighter making use of printed silks. Some unusual pieces including a dress made of buttoned-together strips of fabric.
THE ATMOSPHERE: A stage at the front of the audience had several huge, glowing tubes that rose from the ground to the ceiling and would lift up to reveal models standing under them. In the front row, Lindsay Lohan chatted with a pal throughout, seeming to have other things on her mind as well as the clothes, meanwhile Taylor Momsen sat to her
right, fixated on the models. Cat Deeley and her guy, British actor Jack Huston were holding hands and whispering to each other in a very cutesy way.

WHAT THE CELEBS HAD TO SAY:
Christian Siriano: "G-Star is something that I always wear. It's one of the coolest denim brands there really is. I'm a designer, but I'm more of an evening-wear designer, so I love coming along for something that I personally would wear."
Katrina Bowden: "They have really great jeans — they fit really great. And they have really great clothes too — I wasn't really aware they had dresses and really cute tops and jackets but they do and I'm a huge fan."
Juliette Lewis: "I love G-Star as a brand. I'm wearing one of their casual suits. It's comfortable. I just thought I'd stop in because I'd heard their shows were really avant garde."
Alan Cumming: "I wear G-Star all the time these days. They dressed me for my show, my singing thing in London and all the TV stuff. And then I come back and it's the show — more clothes! I'm G-Star'd out."
Corbin Bleu: "I'm a very big fan of G-Star. I wear them myself. It's a little more funky and raw."
