Kim Kardashian gives OK! the scoop on her latest creation: her first signature fragrance — to be sold exclusively at Sephora in February. Kim has a long lived passion for perfume. “My mom has always had antique fragrance bottles, and I started collecting them myself — I still have my great-grandmother’s!” Kim tells OK!. So it’s no surprise that the beauty decided to create her very own. She shares all the details with OK! about her latest venture.

How would you describe your new scent?

It’s sexy and sultry, yet youthful. I wanted to make sure it was good for everyday use — and that you could wear it both at night and during the day. My little sisters wear it, but my mom loves it, too, so it has a broad appeal.

What are some of your favorite ingredients?

Gardenia, tuberose and jasmine, which are all my favorite flowers. I never like anything too fruity; I’m more of a white florals kind of girl.

Any tips for applying perfume?

I always like to spritz the scent on my clothes. The trick is to not just spray it on the obvious places like your wrists and neck. Have fun with it!

Why is fragrance important to you?

Different smells remind me of different times in my life. Thierry Mugler’s Angel reminds me of my dad Robert, because he would always buy it for me.

What did you enjoy most about the creative process?

I really enjoyed being involved from the start. I didn’t think I’d have so much creative control, but I was heavily involved. If I didn’t like something, I’d change it.

What did you have the most fun with?

I loved designing the bottle and did lots of research on it. I wanted a bottle that was circular and black — so it would stand out.
