Maybe it's the heat, maybe its recovering from months of being bundled up, but summer always makes me want to dress shop. Problem is all of the season's fun in the sun usually lends my awkward self to gunking up my entire summer wardrobe by Labor Day. With that in mind, the last thing I want to do is put an expensive item of clothing in harm's way. These four dresses are super cute and, even better, reasonably priced, so my wallet won't feel like it's been sucker punched by September 1.

• I'm always on the hunt for dresses that can multi-task during the summer, because sometimes a day at the beach turns into happy hour at the nearest bar and going home to change would mean missing out on some of the fun. I love Piper's Campbell Dress because you can use it to build a nighttime look or keep it simple for daylight hours, and it comes in three different colors.
