Dec. 6 2013, Published 3:56 p.m. ET
Curvnistas! The trend of the festive "Christmas sweater" is back in full force! The unfortunate trend has turned into a festive free-for-all in the style department. Celebs and fashion tastemakers are eager to indulge. Call off the search, I have solved your style dilemma on how to wear the infamous Christmas sweater. Pair it with one of the top trends on the runway—the pleated skirt. My style mission is to make the kooky trend look as chic, slimming and fashionable as possible.
Check out my festive ensemble while Christmas shopping in NYC above! Wardrobe: Sweater West Seal, Skirt Theyskens' Theory, Boots Fendi.
Style Notes for your go -to party-season wardrobe:
- Mirror the holiday sweater trend with cool pleats. Try various fabrics, colors and pleat styles.
- Pair the over-sized sweater with something flirty. Various hem lengths can create a great silhouette while giving great leg.
- Incorporate similar color patterns with your selected base. Mix the cool knit with a luxe trend such as pleats.
- Don’t forget to accessorize! You can't be party season “ready” without a cool statement necklace, belt, colorful tight, or amazing platform or bootie to complete your look.

Curvy Note:
Add a jolt of color and a little street style inspiration this holiday! Top off your cheerful look with a cool beanie. Cold weather inspiration wouldn’t be complete without a great hat. After dancing and partying at a soiree, this is perfect for a messy-hair-don’t-care situation.
