ABC News Reporter Elizabeth Vargas Heads Back To Rehab

Elizabeth Vargas of ABC News' 20/20, has returned to rehab to be treated for alcohol dependency.

"While on vacation this weekend, I decided to return to a recovery center. As so many other recovering alcoholics know, overcoming the disease can be a long and incredibly difficult process," she said in a statement. “I feel I have let myself, my co-workers and most importantly my family down and for that I am ashamed and sorry. I am committed to battling and addressing this debilitating disease and want to thank everyone who has offered their unwavering support during this trying time.”

Vargas also spent time in a treatment facility last fall, which she discussed on Good Morning America. The anchor is currently going through a divorce with her husband of 12 years, singer Marc Cohn, the husband of her two sons aged 7 and 10.
