Was Amy Schumer Just Fat-Shamed Into Quitting A Movie?

Haters gon’ hate — and sometimes it’s not worth the hassle. Amy Schumer faced intense backlash when news broke in December that she was to star in a Barbie movie,

with Internet trolls saying she doesn’t have the right stuff to play the iconic teeny-waisted doll. And while she fired back with a post about being “a great choice,”

the onslaught of negativity proved too much for Amy — and the studio — to bear. “Amy’s used to hecklers,” says a source, “but Sony was spooked by the furor.”

While she dropped out in March, citing scheduling conflicts, the source says in reality she and the producers agreed to part ways.

Adds the source: “It’s a shame. It would’ve been her biggest movie yet.”
